Denise Demaras Dog Artist (and Cats Too)
Denise Demaras, portrait artist specializing
in dogs, cats, and other pets, creates her masterpieces in a cottage studio
in West Hartford, CT -- a
perfect little house on the edge of the woods and 1/2 mile from town.
It serves as her retreat and town house and has a great fenced yard for
her beloved dog Cassie and a studio and office for her.
"I was just commissioned for 3 more paintings
for a corgi owner, said Denise happily.
Denise, who recently retired from a career in
spa management, is now putting her hidden artistic talent to work, which
is suddenly evolving as a second career. In 2000, Denise left Santa Fe,
New Mexico and the world of luxury spas and moved to Beverly Hills. She
painted a portrait of her dog Cassie, and was almost an overnight success.
Commissions arrived at a rapid pace.
"It seems as if people today prefer portraits
of their pets to those of their spouses or families. Perhaps, the pet is
the favorite child"
Denise paints from photographs. All a pet owner
has to do is send one or more photos to Denise and specify color and size
preference. She personally consults with her clients to assure their satisfaction.
"Animal portraits and objects are designed for
you alone to help you find your pathway to your dreams and goals," she
says, They will be there to remind you and guide you, keep you focused
and sure footed as you put your best foot forward with a trusting heart."
Prices for portraits are currently still very
affordable. However, as Denise's popularity increases, demand will force
higher prices, but like all art, it is an investment, and one to cherish.
