I spent a lot of time there and subsequently opened a branch of my bookshop (The Phoenix Bookshop in Houston). I no longer have the bookshop and have had several careers since that time," said Marti. Marti, who began teaching yoga in the early 80's, has developed highly successful aquatic programs, and is a member of two National Boards in Aquatics. "With a lot of time spent in swimming pools and camping, I began to realize my skin was taking a beating," she said. Although quite successful, she ended her aquatic career and moved to the Texas Hill Country, where she operated a Bed & Breakfast.
