Easy and Fast
Homemade Apple Cobbler
What you need:
1/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup twice sifted flour (you
can make it without sifting the flour)
1 & 1/2 teaspoon baking
powder
¾ cup milk
2 cup fruit (apples, or
cherries, or peaches, mixed, plums etc.)
The Chef prefers to make this
exact recipe but using three cups of apples (the King likes Gala apples,
ideally from Delta, Colorado near the Grand Mesa).
What to do:
Melt butter in the baking dish
Mix the sugar (reserving one-half
cup of the sugar for later use) flour, baking powder, milk and pour over
melted butter.
Sprinkle the fruit over the above
mixture (this mixture is the dough).
Then sprinkle the remaining ½
cup sugar over all
Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
This is really a simple dish.
You can enhance it by pouring cold whole creme over it when served.
You can drizzle honey or agave
over it, you can put it in a serving dish, add cheese, and melt the cheese
under a broiler. You can serve creme cheese on the side; just experiment
with it, you'll love the simplicity of it.
Its great advantage is that it
is homemade and free of hydrogenated oil, free of dangerous high fructose
corn syrup, has no artificial flavors, zero terrible MSG, and no added
chemicals.
