The King's Christmas Feast

The Feast Menu
Any menu can be as simple or complex as one wishes. And the service
can be simple or complex. The Queen likes sit down meals with china, crystal,
and silver. The King likes to put the turkey on a large table surrounded
by all the other food and let every one serve themselves. The King, admittedly,
is a chow hound and loves buffets.
So, depending on your own choices, here are a few more considerations:
You could begin with a very light soup and melba toast.
An appetizer or appetizers might be a good addition. These could be
as simple as a chip and dip or something really wonderful like smoked
salmon on toast ---- you have a world of choices in this regard.
Assorted beverages will brighten things up.
And, of course, you can offer a whole range of things such as celery
sticks, stuffed olives, crackers, fresh bread, and other deserts (such
as fudge).
The King once attended a meal in which the chef managed to keep a steady
steam of hot rolls moving from the oven and presented, tray after tray,
to the guests. Everyone loves fresh breads and, especially, the aromas
of fresh hot bread.
